Having coached German and taught German to singers, conductors and directors in the international opera world including the prestigious Jette Parker Artist programme at the Royal Ballet and Opera, Covent Garden since 2003, Katja is the go to person to help you with your German. Katja has trained both as singer and phonetician, has a language teaching qualification and offers the following:

  • prepare singers and pianists for Lieder  recitals 
  • help singers, conductors and directors to speak some German for auditions in a German speaking country for a guest or „Festvertrag“ 
  • teach communication in German to work and live in Germany, Austria or Switzerland.

Katja is hugely passionate about empowering artists by preparing them culturally and linguistically. Speaking the country you work in does not only help integration but also boosts confidence when interacting with fellow professionals. Speaking some German is an essential tool in order to communicate when working in German speaking countries and to have a basic understanding of German operatic texts and song texts to help interpretation, pronunciation and phrasing.
